Marc Alves, Superintendent

Born in Madera, California and raised in Santa Rosa, Marc has spent his entire career in commercial construction, working his way from sweeping floors and carpentry to supervising job sites. leading his first commercial project at just 20 years old. What he enjoys most about construction is that no two days or projects are ever the same, keeping the work constantly evolving and rewarding. One of his favorite projects was the Russian River Brewing Company project in Windsor. Marc is known for his problem-solving abilities and managing a wide range of personalities on job sites.
Outside of work, Marc enjoys traveling, keeping life simple and stress free, and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. His go-to food is sushi.
Thomas Anderson, Project Manager

Thomas believes that taking one step at a time will get you where you need to go. Having the opportunity to experience the building environment as a laborer, a concrete finisher and an architect, he has the knowledge to facilitate challenging new projects. Thomas has been happily married for over 30 years, is the father of two children and has an incredible grandson. He always looks forward to backpacking through the High Sierras and, from time to time, still enjoys mixing it up with the young guys on the basketball court.

Mike Butala, Superintendent
Mike Butala
Superintendent
Mike has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Mike is a US Army Veteran and has been a superintendent in California, Montana and Northern Idaho. In Montana, he was a little league baseball coach and a board member of the Northwest Little League Association. Mike is also an avid fly fisherman and a pretty good golfer.

Justin’s years in the construction field have included spending time in commercial concrete and residential estate home framing. With his many years of construction experience, Justin is an asset to any team. He enjoys communicating with different contractors within the trades and appreciates seeing the final product upon completion. In his free time Justin enjoys spending time to be with his wife and three kids.
Amy Chesarek, Project Manager

Amy grew up in Martinez and brings 11 years of experience in the construction industry, primarily focused on high-end commercial residential projects. She studied City and Regional Planning at California Polytechnic State University and earned her Master’s degree in Urban Land Development from California State University, Sacramento. Amy enjoys the hands-on nature of construction and the unique problem solving that keeps every project exciting. Amy’s bright smile and positive energy have already been a wonderful addition to the team, and her warm, friendly personality has made her a natural fit within the JMA office!
Outside of work, she loves spending time with her family and being outdoors through gardening, hiking, biking, and trips to the beach.

Noah enjoys creating personal interactions with all team members on his jobs. Many years ago, Noah started with JMA as a laborer and worked his way up to superintendent. With his many years of experience, he has learned to enjoy both the residential and commercials sides of construction. Noah’s favorite pastime is spending time with his wife and twin daughters.

Born and raised in California, Mike brings deep industry experience and a steady, team-first leadership style to JMA. A CMAA-certified Construction Manager (CCM), his career has spanned both institutional and high-end residential work. What Mike values most about construction is the team dynamic. He believes the camaraderie that develops across owners, architects, trades, and project managers is unmatched and that strong teams are the foundation of exceptional results. For him, the most rewarding part of the job is transforming ideas from two dimensions on paper into something tangible, lasting, and real.
Outside of work, Mike enjoys beekeeping, cycling and spending time outdoors. He also enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He’s also known for his healthy perspective on pride, believing steady humility is key to long-term success.

Alyssiana Hugel, Administrative Assistant

Born in Hayward, California, Alyssiana brings an energetic, people-first approach to JMA as the friendly face at the front desk and welcoming voice on the phone. New to the construction industry, she’s quickly developed a passion for the teamwork and collaboration that go into delivering successful projects, and hopes continue growing within the industry and eventually transition into project management.
Outside of work, Alyssiana stays active through boxing, hiking, and fitness training. She teaches boxing fitness classes and enjoys helping others reach their goals while building confidence and discipline. She holds a Sociology degree from San Jose State University and Sonoma State University and is also an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and taking her chihuahua-dachshund mix on outdoor adventures.

Aaron began his construction career in 2000, working in Denver for a large commercial contractor before returning to California. Outside of work, Aaron enjoys outdoor adventures with his wife and three children. Aaron also enjoys traveling and has visited many great places including India and Peru.

Craig appreciates a new challenge everyday and working on beautiful properties. Even though he was born in Washington Craig has over 25 years of construction experience in the North Bay, he enjoys being able to turn over a completed project to a satisfied customer. In his spare time Craig enjoys hiking, golfing and traveling.

Born and raised in San Francisco, Jason brings over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, including 20 years in custom cabinetry and 12 years managing large-scale construction projects. With a Certificate in Construction Project Management from San Diego State’s World Campus, he has a deep understanding of what it takes to transform raw materials into world-class structures. Collaboration is at the heart of Jason’s approach. He thrives on working closely with teams, clients, and partners to bring ambitious visions to life. One of his favorite career highlights was being part of a 1,000-acre ranch restoration project. Outside of work, Jason enjoys hiking, fishing, and camping, and he’s most proud of his kids. We’re thrilled to have him on board and look forward to the expertise, leadership, and passion he brings to every project.
David Luis, Assistant Project Manager

David brings a passion for learning and collaboration to every project. With a bachelor of science in business management and three years experience as a project engineer in residential construction across Sonoma, Marin and San Francisco counties, David has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in high-end residential and commercial building. David thrives on learning something new everyday and enjoys collaborating with all the trades. Outside of work, David enjoys raising cattle and lifting weights, bringing the same dedication and discipline to his personal interests as he does to his professional projects. He believes “the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask,” a quote that drives his commitment to growth and open communication on every job site.

Jesse Malone, President
Jesse Malone
President
Jesse loves solving problems. With a background in engineering and design, he began his professional career designing and building robotics and special effects for movies. This industry helped him develop a unique skill set, particularly effective in construction management and the challenges that it presents. Jesse started his construction career in downtown San Francisco managing commercial projects. He came to JMA in 2005 as a senior superintendent, oversaw some of JMA’s most prestigious projects and solidified his reputation as a reliable leader, talented builder and true steward. He became a principal in 2016 and formally took over for Jim Murphy in June of 2021. Outside of work, Jesse can be found outdoors enjoying mountain biking, running and spending time with his family.

Mike enjoys the variety that working in construction brings with it’s new and interesting challenges each day. Mike started his working career as an early childhood educator for 10 years. Mike believes his greatest accomplishment is helping raise two confident, outgoing and happy children. Outside of work Mike enjoys golf, hockey, traveling and spending time with his family.

Growing up in Santa Rosa, Amber brings more than 20 years of accounting experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry to JMA. For the past decade, she has served in leadership roles as a Controller, supporting financial strategy, operations, and project teams with a collaborative and detail-oriented approach.
Amber enjoys working alongside strong teams to help deliver successful projects and values the balance between the fast-paced nature of construction and the analytical side of finance. Outside of work, she is deeply involved in her children’s school and sports activities and supports local nonprofits focused on mental health awareness and at-risk youth programs.
Cameron Plowman, Project Engineer

Born and raised in Napa, California, Cameron joined the team with a passion for building and a strong appreciation for the construction process. With three years of hands-on experience as an apprentice carpenter and a background in hardware retail, he brings a solid foundation of field knowledge and a willingness to learn from seasoned professionals. One of Cameron’s favorite aspects of working in construction is seeing projects take shape and understanding the process behind each phase of the build. He values working alongside experienced tradespeople and gaining insights from their years of industry expertise. Outside of work, Cameron enjoys building LEGO models and working with model trains, interests that reflect his attention to detail and love for craftsmanship.

Mike has been in the construction industry for over 25 years. He enjoys using his experience and creativity to find solutions to the many problems construction presents each day. Mikes favorite part of construction is building relationships with subcontractors, clients and build partners on a project. When Mike is not working, he is either flying or spending time with his family.
Steve Ronchelli, Principal

Steve began his career in the construction industry in 1983, and has worked as a laborer, estimator, and project manager. Prior to joining JMA, Steve spent many years working for one of Northern California’s largest concrete contractors, giving him in-depth knowledge of architectural and structural concrete, including tilt-up construction. He was promoted to vice-president of operations at JMA and became a minority shareholder in 2012, and now holds the position of company president. In addition to his role as President, Steve is responsible for pre-construction services, estimating and project management of various projects. His ability to see and implement value engineering, from both a cost and a scheduling standpoint, makes him a very valuable team member. Outside of work, his life revolves around family, faith and sports. Riding bikes, working in the yard, time at Tahoe and a good glass of wine round out a good life.

Morgan Sandoval, Assistant Project Manager
Morgan Sandoval
Assistant Project Manager
Originally from Orange County, Morgan started her career in residential construction working for a homebuilder’s design center before making her way to the Bay Area. Having called the Bay Area home for the past 10 years, she has built her career in high-end residential construction with experience throughout Sonoma and Napa counties. She enjoys supporting project teams, building industry relationships, and helping tell the story of JMA’s work and culture.
When she’s not in the office, Morgan can usually be found exploring wine country, tending to her garden, baking sourdough, attending concerts, or traveling.
Patricia Santos, Assistant Project Manager

Patricia was born and raised in San Francisco and built her career in construction through hands-on experience and a passion for design-focused projects. Although her degree is in Health Education with an emphasis in Public Health, she entered the construction industry in 2018 and quickly advanced from design assistant to project manager roles in custom cabinetry, flooring, and residential remodeling throughout the Bay Area.
She especially enjoys visiting jobsites and seeing projects come to life from start to finish. Outside of work, Patricia loves trying new restaurants and cafés, cooking, baking minimalist cakes, and spending time with her partner, dogs, family, and friends. One of her favorite projects was contributing to the millwork package for the MIRA residential tower in San Francisco.

Born in San Jose, California, Dane brings a thoughtful, standards-driven approach to his work at JMA. Specializing in high-end residential construction and small-project execution. Dane is inspired by the permanence of what he builds. For him, construction isn’t a short-term effort, it shapes how families live and gather for years to come. That long-view perspective drives his commitment to thoughtful execution and doing things the right way.
Fatherhood has deeply shaped Dane’s leadership philosophy. He is most proud of being a dependable, present dad and someone who shows up consistently and works hard for the people who count on him. Outside the office, Dane enjoys cooking (especially a good steak night), staying active, exploring new technology, and continually refining systems that make projects run more efficiently. He’s naturally curious and always looking to improve at work, at home, and in life.
Andrew Supinger, Senior Project Manager

Andrew believes managing expectations of each client and design team is essential to a successful project. Originally from Washington, Andrew started at JMA as an assistant project manager and quickly became a project manager. When he is not hard at work, he is spending time with his wife and two children. Andrew is also an avid sports fan, you will see him rooting for the WSU Cougars, San Francisco Giants, Seattle Seahawks and Golden State Warriors.

Juan takes great pride in his work and enjoys looking back at the end of a successful project and seeing the final result. Juan started with JMA as a carpenter before becoming a superintendent. He coached fast-pitch girls’ traveling softball for eight years, enjoys trap shooting and working with his horse.
