Jim Murphy

CEO

Best advice: “Never give up!” This came from Mr. Spicer, an industrious 94-year-old who lived to be 103.

Favorite pastime: Drag racing, from building racecars to racing

Born and raised in San Francisco, Jim and his wife Judi moved to Santa Rosa when he was 21. A love of making things with his hands and solving challenges led to the creation and growth of Jim Murphy & Associates.

In construction for most of his adult life, Jim has been a carpenter, foreman, superintendent, subcontractor, and general contractor since 1987. His craftsmanship, experience, leadership and rapport with people enable him to inspire JMA’s field crews to control costs and finish complex projects on time.

Jim considers having the respect and love of his wife, two daughters and four grandchildren to be his greatest achievement. Getting away for a few days with wife Judi, where it’s really warm (think Baja), allows for decompression time. His favorite alone time is spent in his racecar shop.
