Hillside Contemporary
The owner of this sparkling gem is renowned San Francisco Bay Area architect Darryl Roberson, FAIA, who designed this dream home for property he and his wife purchased over twenty years ago. The home’s exterior veneer features Rheinzink zinc tile siding. Stone harvested from the building site was used for the home and landscape retaining walls. Combined with stucco, extensive storefront windows and doors and a cool roof. The contemporary home and outdoor terrace was a second project for this owner, JMA previously completed a guest house and observatory on the same property.
Guesthouse and observatory: A jewel box of less than 1,000 square feet, this guesthouse incorporates an observatory into its intensely detailed spaces. Steel framework, slate floors, glass block and concrete countertops contrast with the maple cabinets, ceiling and doors.
