"JMA provides better service than most other professionals I have encountered. They are professional and accountable." — Jeremy Scherer, Executive Vice President, The Plumpjack Group
Balboa Cafe, Mill Valley
After 5 months of construction, the restaurant opened on schedule.
This 3,200 square foot remodel for San-Francisco-based, The PlumpJack Group, began with a complete interior demolition of what was formerly a Chinese restaurant. New structural steel beams and columns were constructed to support the building's second floor, and a new concrete floor was poured lower than the previous wood floor to increase the interior headroom. A full kitchen was built, along with bathrooms, a bar and the dining room. New windows were installed as well as custom-made doors of recycled wood. In fact, recycled wood was used extensively throughout for the bar and wainscoting. After a 5-month construction schedule, most of which involved the structural work, the restaurant opened in early September 2008, as promised.
